Demo Days – The 4^th Saturday of each month we will be doing a demo of different topics throughout the year.  The times will be 10:30 and 1:15.  No fee, no sign up.  Come on by the store and get a free demonstration.  This month on January 28^th we will be doing a demonstration of two techniques for quilting as you go.  We will demonstrate how to make a rag quilt and how to make those ever popular minkee strip quilts.  I know your mind is blown away by the awesomeness of this idea!!  Mine too!  See you Saturday.

 

A few quick notes before we move on to the quilts we have up in the store this week! 

·       We received a very large shipment of new batiks ranging from pastel blues to rich, vivid greens and corals among other wonderful color options.  Come by and check them out today!

·       The Wizard is back in town!  We felt that a Kansas Quilt shop should have some Wizard of Oz fabric.  So we got some back in and are making a fun fantastic new quilt for you.  Keep watching for further details.

·       The cutest cheater cloth in the history of the world is here from Moda.  I can’t even describe it!  I think we are going to make a fast and furious easy throw out of it. 

·       We have in some shamrock and valentine fabrics to make into holiday projects this year.  Table runners, placemats, table toppers and wall hangings are calling your name!

·       More Minkee strip kits are also available in the store.

 

Our first new quilt for this week is one we have affectionately called our “Man Cave” quilt.  The pattern is called “All About Me,” which seems very apt for our topic and retails for 8.25.  The kit, which is a good size at 66 x 88 for our guy pals, is $89.50.  Jenn put a brown minkee on the back and had to fight her son and husband to get it back in the store after she finished the binding.  Great, great valentine, graduation or father’s day gift girls!!!!  Get’em while they last!

 

Our Super Sewer strikes again!  Susan Hagan has been the best of the best in helping us get models completed for the store.  She made the next two, yes, two quilt models for us!  I hope you enjoy them as much as we do and give Susan a big THANK YOU from us for helping out so much!

 

“La Belle” is the name of one of the quilts.  The kit sells for $69.50, with the pattern priced at $8.75.  Fantastic colors jump out at you in this 60 x 72 inch quilt.  Enjoy!

 

Susan’s second model is “Mirror, Mirror,” which we retail for $72.50 (60 x 72) (our spies saw it in a small quilt catalogue for $99.99!)  The pattern for this quilt is $9.25.  I love the colors of this quilt.  The border fabric is one of my favorite batiks.  What a nice quilt to have on display during the month of March to help celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in style.

 

 

Our last quit this week is made by our friend, Connie Carmichael, who also helped us out with models this month!  We have used our ever popular “Fortune Cookie” pattern, ($8.75) to make this throw quilt using “Normandy” fabrics.  The kit price is $67.50.  Sophisticated and modern.  This is a keeper!
